We recently hosted our family for Easter, and kicked off the weekend with an intimate dinner at our house. It was so special to all be together, and the perfect occasion for a cozy dinner party. Here are the precious details in case you want to “Bring the buns” and re-create this evening for a spring or summer soirée!
Table setting: I set the table with our fine china, linens, and crystal, (such a treat to use this table setting trifecta!) and also used our light green and gold porcelain chargers to add a bit of color to the table.
Menu: As for the pièce de résistance, aka the menu, I made a delicious spring-inspired menu of asparagus salad, roasted chicken, vegetable risotto, and rhubarb-strawberry crisp. Dear readers, I must toot my own horn and tell you that the meal was superb! I’m still dreaming about the divine crisp and can’t wait to make it again soon.
Flowers: I created a pavé-style arrangement in a wide-mouthed glass bowl. Capturing the natural beauty of spring, I used seasonal blooms including pink tulips, white lilac, green kale, and green hypericum berries. I first criss-crossed the three kale stalks to anchor the arrangement, and next nestled the white lilac in the middle. Finally, I placed the tulips in the open spaces (all around the kale) so they could be visible from every angle, and tucked in the berries around the lilac.
