It’s no secret that I love to cook and have a cozy night at home with family and friends, and this rings even more true now that we are eating cleaner. I have a wonderful library of cookbooks, yet over the past year I’ve been hoping to add healthier titles to our collection. Cue the book that’s changed everything: The Defined Dish by Alex Snodgrass. I discovered her blog several years ago, and oh my goodness does she have incredible and nourishing recipes (most of which are Whole30 compliant). I felt overjoyed when she released her gorgeous new cookbook, as her dishes are delicious, easy to prepare, and always a hit with our family.
One of my favorite details of the book is the way each recipe denotes in the top corner if its dairy-free, gluten-free, paleo, etc. Having food allergies can make finding tasty recipes a bit of a treasure hunt, yet, this book goes above and beyond and makes it so easy for me to see what I can and can’t eat or need to modify.
Now to the food! Here are my five favorite recipes from the book. I highly recommend you order a copy so you too can make these and enjoy them as much as we have!
- Skillet Chicken Piccata
- Chipotle Chicken Tostadas with Pineapple Salsa
- Mediterranean Fish en Papillote
- Brussels Sprout Salad with Honey-Mustard Vinaigrette
- Lemony Greek Potatoes with Crispy Green Chicken Thighs
