Ask B: Celebrating a Baptism

Dear B,

My cousins and close friends have started having babies and inviting us to their baptisms. What should we get the child as a gift?

Auntie T

Dear Auntie T,

Baptisms are such a special occasion, and you are spot on (and very generous and thoughtful!) about bringing a gift! Below are my suggestions for appropriate keepsake gifts to celebrate the child. Hope this helps!

Sunday Supper: Braised Mexican Chicken

Braised Mexican Chicken

Guacamole Salad

Churros with Chocolate Sauce

Sunday nights have become that much more special since we instated the Sunday Supper tradition (inspired by cherished childhood dinners at my grandmother’s home)! In the spirit of Tex-Mex cuisine, I’m making Goop’s glorious braised mexican chicken with the help of my stainless steel sous chef, aka my trusty slow-cooker. Absolutely delicious and easy-peasy to prepare (the slow-cooker does the cooking for you!) this flavorful dish will fill your home with a rich and fragrant blend of peppers, garlic and tomatoes, and is even fabulous the next day. I’ll be pairing it with a fresh guacamole salad and whipping up cinnamon sugar kissed churros with velvety chocolate sauce for a decadent dessert. Cheers to the weekend ahead!

Last weekend I traveled to the ever fabulous Los Angeles with my best girlfriends for a little spring getaway. We truly had the most perfect trip – from lunch on the sun drenched patio at The Ivy, to drinks and dinner at Soho House with my big brother, to lounging poolside at the Wilshire – and I think we all wish we could do it all over again! As always, part of the fun of the trip was of course the fashion, and here are some of my favorite items that I sported on the west coast. Enjoy!
